To request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to the library's ILLiad' system. To do this you fill out a registration form using your Web browser. Registration has three purposes:

If you are a WGU student, please use the "Back" button to return to the referring page and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

We currently have over 12,000 registered users on Main Campus alone, and need to identify our legimate off-campus users. Not filling out the form correctly will cause your account to be frozen or rejected altogether.

About your Username and Password

During registration, you will be asked to choose a Username and Password. You will use this Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad' system in the future.

Choose anything you like. We recommend that you follow good security practice and choose a password that is different from those you use to access other systems. ILLiad' will encrypt your password, so it will remain secure. Only you will know your password.

Important ID Information

You will be asked for your UNM Network ID (NetID). You must have one prior to establishing an Interlibrary Loan account. This is NOT your SSN or Banner number. Sign up is online at ITS. We do this so that we do not have to ask for, or keep a record of, your SSN. Your NetID will also provide you with remote access to many Reference databases and full-text sources on the eLibrary page.

Important Copyright Information

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
